Granite overhang support question. Empty Granite overhang support question.

My son and DIL have newly installed island cabinetry. The granite top will have a 12-13” overhang on one long and one short side. It will need support.

They were offered 2 options:

either install the metal supports recommended by Joe Corlett, which requires some cabinet routing, ordered by the homeowner and would be installed by the cab maker or…

the granite place suggested that they could rout out the granite and epoxy in supports.
