The US Revenue Department orders Microsoft

The US Internal Revenue Service orders Microsoft to pay nearly $29 billion in back taxes.
Microsoft, a giant US technology company The company said in its Form 8-K filing that it had received Notices of Proposed Adjustment from the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requiring the company to pay an additional $28.9 billion in taxes.
Microsoft said The case raised concerns about the company's allocation of profits between countries and jurisdictions between 2004 and 2013, it said. As much as $10 billion in taxes the company has paid is not reflected in the redacted list from the IRS.
Microsoft plans to contest the notice. They will start with the IRS's internal appeals process and, if necessary, be prepared to take the matter to court.
Microsoft states in the document that “Microsoft does not agree with these revisions. and will process an appeal within the Revenue Department This is a process that is expected to take several years,” he said. “We are confident that we have always followed the rules of the IRS and paid our taxes correctly in the United States and around the world.”
Microsoft said as of Sept. 30, 2023, that it believes the funds reserved for paying income taxes are sufficient.
