6.3 earthquake shakes Afghanistan violently It took more than 2,400 lives.
The United States Geographic Survey (USGS) reported that a magnitude 6.3 earthquake occurred in the city of Harat. northwest of Afghanistan (7 Oct. 2023) and was one of the most severe earthquakes this year. After the severe earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria It claimed more than 50,000 lives last February.
Janan Sayeikh, spokesman for the Taliban Ministry of Disaster Management. Revealed to Reuters that The death toll rose to 2,445, while the number of injured was more than 2,000, down from the previous 9,240 injured in the quake.
About 1,320 homes were also damaged by the quake, and authorities sent 10 rescue teams to the affected areas. which is close to the Iranian border.
